Our first batch of gooseberries was sourced from the renowned Wye Valley growers. The light, sandy soil and south-facing slopes of the meandering Wye Valley capture sunlight, and create a microclimate that is perfectly formed to produce some of the earliest produce in the UK.
Local gooseberries are now in season and sourced from our growers Mitchell Fruit Garden from Newquay, Cornwall and Kitley Farm from Plymouth, Devon.
Gooseberries darken in colour as they mature and flavours can range from sour to relatively sweet. Make the most of these unique berries while they are available. Their short season is from late June and throughout July.
