Give Peas a Chance

Fresh, sweet, English garden peas are now in season and currently available to pre-order - give them a chance on your plates this Spring.


Did you know?


  • Peas can be classified as both a pulse when dried or a legume when fresh.

  • In the UK, over 350000 hectares of peas are grown! This is equivalent to 70000 football pitches.

  • Each tonne of peas harvested contains 3 million peas which, if laid out, would stretch to the moon and back.

  • 1 x serving of peas provides over 15% of your daily vitamin C intake.

  • 80g (three heaped teaspoons) of peas contains more fibre than a slice of wholemeal bread.

  • On average each person eats around 9000 peas each year.

  • 7175 peas were once eaten in a minute with chopsticks by Janet Harris of Sussex. This was a world record!

  • The proper etiquette for eating peas is to squash them on the back of your fork.
