Supplying the very best of local produce…
Our four dedicated fresh produce buyers have been with the company for a combined total of more than 85 years!! This enormous experience has been vital to our development of an unrivalled supplier base, which includes more than 50 specialist growers across Cornwall. Wherever possible we work with our growers to plan the production of seasonal crops, specifically tailored in terms of product type and quantity, to satisfy our customers’ needs. As a result we are the largest supplier of fresh produce to the catering and retail trade in Cornwall. We are always keen to develop business with new producers and suppliers. Our business has developed dramatically over the last 10 years, directly as a result of our determination to understand and anticipate what our customers want and by listening to what they have to say. In response therefore to the needs of our customers and to the increasing demands and sophistication of the catering trade we have developed a uniquely diversified stock range in order to provide our pressurised customers with access to a greater range of fresh and ambient catering ‘essentials’. Our specialised and skilled Essential Food Co. procurement team includes dairy, ambient (‘dry’) and non-food traders whose responsibility it is to ensure that our customers diverse needs are satisfied, first time, every time. This one-stop-shop product offering is backed up with an unrivalled six day a week service level. The range now extends to thousands of product lines, covering dairy and other chilled foods, ‘dry’ goods, kitchen hygiene products and other non food products (paper products, food containers etc). Uniquely, all products listed are available for daily delivery, six days a week, across Cornwall and West Devon.
Account Management and Customer Care
Our customers are not treated like numbers and they are never neglected. Every customer has a dedicated Office/Telephone Account Manager and a dedicated Field Sales Executive to provide answers to questions, to help with range or cost planning and to help out when an unexpected need may arise. The level of contact that you require is usually agreed with our Account Management team at the outset and then periodically reviewed to suit your (changing) needs.
